"Swag It Out" is a pop/R&B song by Zendaya. The song was composed by Bobby Brackins and was released on May 30, 2011 as the first single of Zendaya's career on an independent label, not being included on any album or soundtrack of Walt Disney Records. According to Zendaya, the song is about self-esteem. Zendaya performed the song on the Swag It Out Tour and her Sweet 16. The music video for Swag It Out was released on Zendaya's official YouTube channel on December 15, 2011. The video of the song was recorded in Zendaya's hometown of Oakland, California. During the recordings, Zendaya took it to donate part of the budget of the video to buy toys for needy children of the association Pastry!. The video was directed and edited by Glenn A. Foster, assisted by Zendaya.
